Nottingham Post Feature on Online Classes

The last time you picked up a hula hoop may have been in a playground but Nottingham instructor Rochene Johnston is making sure it’s not just kids who have all the fun and says there are serious health and fitness benefits to the practice.

The Lenton-based teacher set up Project Hoop – an intense full body workout using hula hoops – three years ago but with the lockdown in full force she has moved her classes online.

As well as four sessions streamed live on Zoom each week Rochene is also offering to deliver hoops to newcomers who live within a one-mile radius of her studio in Willoughby Street, in Lenton (I would like to add, I do not have a studio in Lenton, I wish I did, I rent a room at the Lenton Centre). They will also be available for collection.

Levels range from beginners to advance with group sizes from eight to 12 people…
