Instructor runs virtual hula hoop class
Hula hoop instructor Rochene Johnston didn’t want her students to miss out on classes while they’re stuck at home – so she’s started running virtual classes online.
The former lecturer, who lives in Nottingham, gave up her job teaching English full time to become a professional hula hooper.
She hopes the Project Hoop classes – run online from her living room – will help people with their mental and physical health during the coronavirus pandemic.
“It keeps people in shape and focused on something, and they can talk with each other and support each other,” she says.
“We’ve already got a nice little group but other people are welcome to join us.”
